sailing the seas of cheese

I DID IT! I finally finished the book I've been working on (on and off) for the past 2 weeks, at least! It's a masterpiece that I've effed up several times only to do it way better the second time. It may not look as impressive as I'm making it sound but let me assure you that an enormous amount of work went into this baby:

...and immediately I'm on to a new project, though I haven't figured out what it's going to be yet. My youngest neice's is turning one tomorrow (or in 3 years--she's a leap year baby) and I have yet to figure out a gift for her. I've been thinking I would make her something and now with less than 24 hours until her party I need to get on it. And I have no idea where to start. A cute little dress? A game? A plush something or other? I've been scouring the interweb for a tutorial for SOMETHING but I can't decide on anything. Any suggestions?

  1. Congrats on finishing your cheese! :) I've got no little ones left in my family for now so my suggestion may be out of date...I say plushie, a classic they can have forever!

  3. love the book -- so detailed and love the different yellow fabrics for the pages. a little late for baby gift advice, but check out sew mama sew's blog archive as there are tons of ideas there.
