Bike Party!!

The forecast called for thunderstorms but it was a perfect day up at Thacher Park on Sunday for Tigerlily's bike party!

Because the park is on the list to be closed by the state only a few parking lots were open so the kids (both big and small) had free reign on the roads and lots. Some fearless members of Skye's Tuesday bike gang rode to the party, braving a seemingly never ending hill to get to the park at the top of an escarpment. Totally awesome.

I seriously love putting these parties together for my kids. This one was especially fun because I couldn't find many ideas on the old interweb (which was surprising) so I had to think up a lot of stuff on my own. We decided to put together a mix of songs about bikes to give out to everyone and that was super fun, and we found some awesome new songs and bands (hello, Plastiscines!). I did paper lunch bags stamped with an awesome bike stamp (also used on the invites and mix envelopes) for the goodie bags, which included a bike pin, bike sticker, bandaids (which came in handy during the party), bubble gum, a candy bar, homemade valve caps for bike tires (with dice and superballs), and a playing card with zip ties to attach it to a bike frame for a noisemaker, old school style.

We had a couple of races and rides in the bike trailer.

she totally cheated

I can't believe my little tiny Tigerlily is already seven!
